In terms of economy, Genie coefficient as an useful index to measure the gap between reach and poor, bigger the index, wider the gap.
Here below is the world bank and international monetary found, we can get to know the annual report from both international organisations and understand what is the trend and how it develop all over the world.

For your information, Tarlos, thank you for sharing this useful tool.
Yes, I agree with you. The gap between rich and poor has widen rapidly.
But since we are discussing about economic inequality there is one important thing I would like to discuss.

Class inequality is always one of the main concern sociologists focus on.
Even there are many possible ways of measuring classes, the state or government always measure class through economic way, for example, incomes.

Most societies use income to categorise people into different type of class. However, most sociologists find this tool is very vague. 
Can you suggest an alternative measurement in measuring or categorising people into different class?
